Police arrest two men after security scare outside Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil's house

That’s following another security incident outside the German’s house earlier this week.

Two men have since been arrested by police.

Arsenal confirmed on Friday that Ozil and his team-mate Sead Kolasinac would not be playing at Newcastle following “further security incidents.”

Both players were victims of an attempted armed robbery outside the Bosnian’s house.

The pair were targeted by a gang on mopeds before Kolasinac chased them off.

According to Goal, the latest security incident saw two men arrested by police on Thursday night outside Ozil’s house in Camden.

Police were called after an incident between men and security staff outside the property.

They were charged under Section 4a of the Public Order Act.

Both are set to appear in court next month.

The Metropolitan Police have since released a statement regarding the incident.

It read: “Two men have been charged under Section 4a of the Public Order Act following an incident in Camden on Thursday, 8 August.

“Ferhat Ercan, 27, of Highgate, and Salaman Ekinci, 27, of Tottenham, were charged on August 9 following the incident and are due to appear at Highbury Corner magistrates’ court on 6 September.”

Arsenal revealed on Friday that both players would not be part of the travelling party to Tyneside to face Newcastle.

It said: “Mesut Özil and Sead Kolasinac will not be part of the squad for our opening match against Newcastle following further security incidents which are being investigated by the police.

“The welfare of our players and their families is always a top priority and we have taken this decision following discussion with the players and their representatives.

“We are liaising with the police and are providing the players and their families with ongoing support. We look forward to welcoming the players back to the squad as soon as possible. We will not be making any further comment on the matter.”
