Where is Nampara filmed?

Nampara is mostly filmed in locations in Bodmin Moor, Cornwall.

According to Poldarked, Ross and Demelza’s home can be found close to St Breward, a village in the area.

Visit Cornwall writes: “Scenes featuring the exterior of Ross Poldark’s cottage, Nampara, are shot on the wild and rugged Bodmin Moor along with many capturing the cast on horseback.

“It’s also the site of the miners’ cottages, such as the one that Ross gives to Jim Carter (Alexander Arnold) and his wife Jinny (Gracee O’Brien).

“In the very first episode Ross meets Demelza at the meeting of paths just north of the village on Minions.”

The area is also home to the cottage of Dwight Enys (Luke Norris).

The BBC said of Bodmin Moor: “With a rugged character and wild streak, Bodmin Moor provides the perfect backdrop to Poldark’s plot of passion and family dramatics.”

Visitors to Cornwall looking for a look into Ross and Demelza’s house, however, will be disappointed.

The interior of the house is actually a set in Bristol, where many of the interiors of Poldark are filmed.

Other parts of Nampara were shot outside of Bodmin Moor.

Nampara Cove, which in the show has seen everything from smuggling to shipwreck, is found in Porthcurno.

St Agnes Head, known for its heather and gorse, was also used as a filming location for parts of Nampara.

Although on Poldark Nampara is only a horseride away from Trenwith, the house now owned by George Warleggen (Jack Farthing), they are actually a three hour drive away from each other.

Trenwith, which until Poldark season five was owned by the now-deceased Elizabeth Warleggen (Heida Reed), is actually Chavenage House in Tetbury, Gloucestershire.

Other Poldark locations filmed outside on Cornwall include the Warleggen Bank and some of the scenes of the Wheal Leisure mines.

In reality, these are actually Wells Town Hall in Somerset, and Bristol’s Redcliffe Caves respectively.

Poldark season 5 airs Sundays at 9pm on BBC One
