Pokémon Go Cobalion Raid guide: Fire and Fighting type pokémon tips

There’s a new Legendary to battle in Pokémon Go but it’s going to need a lot of careful planning to counter its moves and resistances.

A brand new Legendary pokémon has appeared in Pokémon Go and it can be a difficult one to catch if you don’t know its weaknesses and how to counter its moves.

Cobalion is a Generation V pokémon, originally from Pokémon Black and White, and the first of the four Swords of Justice (inspired by The Three Musketeers) from the Unova region.

As with any legendary you can only catch it in a five-star Raid and it’ll only be available in the game until Tuesday, November 26 at 9pm.

Pokémon Go Cobalion counters

Cobalion is a Steel and Fighting-type pokémon, so that means its weak to Ground, Fire, and Fighting-type moves.

At the same time it’s resistant to Grass, Normal, Dragon, Rock, Bug, Dark, Poison, Ice, and Steel moves – so it’s pointless using pokémon that specialise in those.

Despite all those resistances there are a couple of Fire-type legendries, so if you’ve got Moltres and Entei then they’d be great for defeating Cobalion.

If not then Machamp, Flareon, Blaziken, Hariyama, and Chandelure are also good picks.
