Pokémon Detective Pikachu Is the Best-Reviewed Videogame Movie of All Time :: Movies :: News :: Pokémon Detective Pikachu :: Paste – Paste Magazine

Gotta catch ‘em all! Decent reviews, that is. The Ryan Reynolds-led Pokémon Detective Pikachu is currently the best-reviewed video game movie of all time, sitting pretty at a “Fresh” 63 percent according to film review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.

Per the site’s guidelines, only movies released theatrically in the U.S. and with 20 or more reviews were counted. Still, with competition like 2001’s Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (20 percent), Duncan Jones’ Warcraft (28 percent) and the so-bad-it-boggles Alone in the Dark (a frankly too-kind one percent), Nintendo’s electric rodent is the clear winner. Maybe next time we could see Pikachu take on other professions. May we suggest fighter pilot? He’d totally rock that bomber jacket and aviator sunglasses look.

Watch Pikachu catch a case below and check out Paste’s own (positive!) review of the movie here.
