A COUPLE has been slammed for staging “one of the stupidest things ever” following their unique gender reveal.
The pair shared a video of the moment they found out whether they were having a boy or a girl.
And as the clip was re-shared on Facebook, people sighed: “Please don’t make this a trend!”
In the video, the dad-to-be was seen sitting on a motorbike, revving it to inflate a balloon that had been attached to the exhaust pipe.
He kept revving the bike until the black balloon, which was covered in white question marks, got so huge that it burst.
As it did so, blue smoke poured out and blue confetti went everywhere – indicating they are having a boy.
However, people in the comments were less than impressed with the big reveal, as they pointed out how dangerous it could be, especially for pregnant women.
“And one big burst of carbon monoxide,” one person commented.
“For better results: close the garage door, and close all vents,” another sighed.
“There should be a license for having children,” a third said.
“One of the stupidest things that I’ve ever seen…” someone else said.
“Dumbest thing I’ve seen all day, especially when he kept revving it up after,” another raged.
“Pity the carbon monoxide will not be good for the mum to be to breath,” someone else said.
“The pregnant mom just inhaled all of that and so did her baby….. I know it wasn’t intentional but come on be smarter,” someone else urged.
“I cringed the whole video,” another wrote.
“Whose bright idea was this?”
“These gender reveal parties have just gotten way too out of hand, especially the ones that involve explosive devices and such,” someone else insisted.
“I also feel like it’s a generational thing.
The world’s most expensive gender reveals
GENDER reveals are becoming bigger and more elaborate day by day, with people constantly thinking of different ways to up those before them.
And money is no issue for a lot of these couples – with some spending hundreds or thousands on the event.
Read on for some of the most expensive gender reveals in history.
Ste Hamilton
Wealthy property tycoon and YouTuber Ste Hamilton decided to gift his wife-to-be Isabella Rowles with a £300,000 Lamborghini, which would be in either pink or blue to reflect their baby’s gender.
Steven and Isabella and friends and family attended an extravagant event at the Belfry Hotel and Resort near Birmingham to find out they were having a baby boy.
“It was worth every second of the hard work to see the happiness in everyone’s faces on the day,” Ste said, after spending a further £40,000 on the big reveal.
Logan Paul
The wrestling star and YouTuber and fiancee Nina Agdal staged a public wrestling match for their gender reveal.
A wrestler in pink trunks took on one in blue, with the one in pink emerging victorious – signifying that they are having a baby girl.
Inga Stumbriene
The Lithuanian influencer hired planes to fly in the sky as she, her fiance and their nearest and dearest watched.
The planes dropped a load of blue confetti – revealing the pair were having a boy – but people insisted it was the “most polluted” gender reveal ever.
Anonymous couple
One of the most recent jaw-dropping gender reveals happened in May 2024, when a couple decided to DYE a waterfall to reveal if they were having a boy or girl.
After the videos circulated on the social media, the public demanded for the couple to be punished, with some suggesting they should go to jail.
Others were concerned about water contamination, as the pair had used a powdered chemical known as “Blue Lagoon” into the Queima-Pe River, which feeds the waterfall.
“Is it too much to ask to keep it simple, direct to the point but most importantly safe?”
“How could anyone be this ignorant???,” another wondered.
“That was so dangerous to think what could have happened!”
However, others were on hand to defend the couple.
“I’m sorry but I thought it was cute,” one wrote.
“They’re outside on an awesome looking patio.
“No harm was done to anyone including the bike in the making of this video….. geeeeeez.”
“Firstly it’s on a patio, and secondly why not?” another said.
“It’s probably better for the environment than letting 20 pink balloons fly up in the air!”
“This is outside, if you look you can see the roof and it all open.. and they are all standing back so the fumes will go out,” a third wrote.
“But I understand how people can be concerned as I was to begin with but noticed it is outdoors.”
“So funny how judgmental all you people are,” someone else wrote.
“You don’t know them & never will.
“Live your own life & stop trying to put others down!”
