Pittsburgh Knights CEO Rob Lee Shifts Roles to Chief Gaming Officer

The Pittsburgh Knights announced today that Co-Founder Rob Lee has left his CEO position in favor of a new role within the organization, chief gaming officer.

Knights President and fellow co-founder James O’Connor will also serve as CEO going forward. As chief gaming officer, Lee will focus on recruiting and managing players and teams, as well as fostering and maintaining relationships with game developers.

“As the company grows and expands, I believe this is the correct time to refocus my efforts back into competitive gaming. ” said Lee, in a release. A Knights representative had no further details to offer about the reasoning behind today’s personnel decisions.

The Pittsburgh Knights are partnered with the NFL’s Pittsburgh Steelers, which invested in the organization in 2018. Also this week, the Knights announced that it had established an interactive gaming zone at the Steelers’ home stadium, Heinz Field. The team currently competes across eight titles, including Smite, PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS, and Madden NFL 20, with today’s release teasing further expansion ahead.
