Pioneer Woman Ree Drummond says the Real Housewives inspired her dress for her daughter's wedding

Pioneer Woman Ree Drummond is a not-so-secret Bravo fan.

The food and lifestyle expert, 52, revealed how the dress she wore to her daughter Alex’s wedding was a subtle nod to the Real Housewives Of New York in a fun blog post on Tuesday.

Ree purposefully picked a mother-of-the-bride look from designer Jovani because of how the fashion house factored into the reality show’s drama in season 10.

Admitting her obsession, the cookbook author told readers how the ‘Real Housewives are my imaginary best friends and I wanted them to come to the wedding with me.’

The day before she teased her dress story, sharing an Instagram of her look with the caption: ‘if you know the significance of this, raise your hand.’

She later added: ‘THIS WAS NO COINCIDENCE’ with the Luann de Lesseps song Feelin’ Jovani in the background.

Then in her blog, Ree explained: ‘The Real Housewives of New York picked out my mother-of-the-bride dress. Well…sort of.’

RHONY fans will remember how Luann and Dorinda Medley got into a fight after The Countess donned a dazzling Jovani look for her cabaret show.

Her outfit choice upset frenemy Medley, who was also wearing the designer that night and claimed she was the one who introduced Luann to Jovani in the first place.

After a few drinks Dorinda got a bit rowdy in the audience and started clapping and sarcastically yelling, ‘Jovani! JOVANI! Thank you, Jovani! JOVANI!’ while Luann was starting her performance.

Ree couldn’t shake the scene from her head and decided to wear Jovani once her hunt for a mother-of-the-bride dress began.

‘After sifting through lots of glittery, sequined, strapless, and glitzy options, I finally found a Jovani dress that looked like it might work,’ she wrote in the blog.

‘It had an allover soft blue scrolly pattern against a nude shell, and what really stood out to me were the sleeves, which were neither long nor short. Instead, they were open on the underside and gave the impression of a cape or shawl.’

She ordered the look and let in hang in her closet while entertaining other options in the run-up to the wedding.

The Jovani was the winner in the end, as Ree explained: ‘In recent months I’d ordered and rejected/returned about eight different dresses, winding up with one additional (non-Jovani) option.

‘Until the wedding day, I still didn’t know which one I’d wear…but ended up going with the Jovani! I can’t seem to type the name without an exclamation point!’

It was the perfect wedding look for Ree, who wowed in the soft blue number during daughter Alex and new husband Mauricio Scott’s Saturday nuptials at the family 433,000 acre ranch in Oklahoma.

Ree was pleased with her choice, telling readers while it was ‘a little outside [her] comfort zone in terms of being snug’ it was better suited for the outdoor wedding.

‘The other choice was more fancy and glitzy, and it wouldn’t have felt quite right at the ranch,’ she explained, adding ‘And besides…all eyes were on Alex and Mauricio anyway!’

The foodie finished with one last shout-out to her RHONY friends, saying: ‘It was so nice to have my favorite Real Housewives BFF’s at the wedding with me. Even if only in my imagination.’

Drummond through quite the celebration at the family ranch over the weekend.

Ree was emotional as she shared video of her eldest child Alex and husband Ladd Drummond’s father-daughter dance from her wedding this past weekend.

She captured the special moment for fans, writing ‘brb crying’ as she showed the radiant bride, 23, swaying with her dad.

The Drummonds were especially grateful to celebrate after Ladd almost died in a car accident on their sprawling cattle ranch earlier this year.

The rancher, who took off his neck brace for the dance, looked like he was overwhelmed with feelings as he held his girl and whispered into her ear during their dance.

Alex’ dress flowed down as dad lead stepped across a floor decorated with a beautiful crest with the newlyweds last name.

The Drummonds, who are reportedly worth upwards of $200million between her media empire and his family’s cattle business, were feeling blessed to be together for Alex’s nuptials, which happened in the wake of a devastating accident on the sprawling ranch that Ladd’s family has owned for generations.

Ladd, 51, and nephew Caleb, 21, were each driving a Himmat Fire Truck when they collided head-on after winds caused visibility to decrease, with Caleb reportedly ejected 70 feet from the truck, since neither man was wearing a seat belt.

After the accident, which took place on March 10, both men were taken to the St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Caleb was admitted in critical condition with head, arm, leg and internal injuries, according to the report by Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Ree revealed in a March 15 blog post that both Ladd and Caleb were responding to a fire on the ranch when the accident happened.

While Ladd initially refused help, he was taken to the hospital after learning his neck was broken in two different places, which was nearly catastrophic.

Fortunately Ladd was able to attend his daughter’s special day wearing his neck brace.

Ree, who is said to be worth about $50million solo, gushed about her husband as she shared a photo of them watching wedding day rehearsals unfold.

‘Love you, Ladd. (A lot.),’ she captioned the photo.

She also shared another rehearsal day photo with the silly caption, ‘Our honeymoon baby is getting married tonight. (TMI?)’

Ree and Ladd have been married since 1996 and together share daughters Alex, Paige, 21, and sons Bryce, 18, and Todd, 17.

And the Pioneer Woman made sure to use all of her food and decorating skills to make Alex’s day as special as can be.

Catering was provided by Ree’s restaurant The Mercantile, according to Delish, and the newlyweds couldn’t have looked any happier digging into their decadent meal.

‘My mom has kind of been the mastermind behind the wedding menu honestly. I haven’t even tasted the food. My mom tasted it all for us,’ Alex previously told fans during an Instagram Q&A for The Pioneer Woman Magazine.

The wedding festivities seemed to go off without a hitch, despite strong Oklahoma winds threatening to overtake the event.

It wasn’t quite clear if Ree’s husband Ladd was helping organize or still taking things easy as he recovers from a shocking car crash on the family property in March.
