Pink described her battle with coronavirus as the ‘most physical and emotionally challenging’ time as a mother.

The Just Give Me A Reason singer confirmed last month that she had tested positive for Covid-19, alongside three-year-old son Jameson.

And, ahead of Mother’s Day in the US, the 40-year-old opened up about what they went through.

‘Battling Covid-19 along with my three-year-old son was the most physically and emotionally challenging experience I have gone through as a mother,’ she said in an essay penned for NBC News

‘Weeks after receiving our test results, my son was still ill and feverish. It was a terrifying time, not knowing what might come next.

‘But our story is not unique; there are mothers all over America, and the world, that are facing this same uncertainty every single day. Not every family, especially those living on reservations, or in refugee camps, slums, or favelas, are able to practice social distancing.’

Revealing her worries for their ‘new normal’ she also gave a shout-out to mums around the world, continuing: ‘To be a mum, a teacher, a cook, a confidant, and a badass dream chaser all at once is no small feat. Mamas everywhere, you are doing amazing.’

Pink, real name Alecia Moore, revealed she had been diagnosed with coronavirus at the beginning of April, and donated $1million (£814k) in a bid to aid relief in the US.

During an appearance on the Ellen Show, the Just Like A Pill singer – who shares Jameson and daughter Willow with Carey Hart – confessed she was more worried for her son at the time, as his symptoms worsened.

Choking up, she told the host: ‘At one point I was praying, crying, praying –  I realise how ridiculous I sounded – like I thought they told us our kids were going to be okay.

‘We were told that our kids were going to be ok, and I think when people started explaining what this disease is, it was too early to be able to name it completely and tell everybody what to look out for.

‘I got it the second-worst [out of my family]; I’m 40, I have asthma and I’m fit as a fiddle.

‘It’s not just affecting people over 65.’
