Piers Morgan's friend and manager John Ferriter dies: 'I trusted him with my life'


Piers Morgan, 54, shared an emotional tribute to John Ferriter on Twitter, telling his 6.7 million followers the manager had “enriched” his life. “RIP John Ferriter, 59. My brilliant manager and ferociously loyal, kind, charismatic and supremely talented friend,” the Good Morning Britain host said. “I trusted him with my life, and he enriched my life so much. Thank you John, for everything you did for me, and for my family,” Piers added.

Back in April, John shared a picture of himself and Piers posing at dinner as they celebrated his birthday in Los Angeles together.

Sources told Deadline producer and talent representative John died yesterday.

Details and the cause of death have not yet been reported.

John was best known for his lengthy stint at William Morris Agency.

He began his 19 years at the agency as an assistant in 1991 and went on to become Executive Vice President/Worldwide Head of Non-scripted Television.

He represented many of the biggest reality shows, including Keeping Up With the Kardashians, The Biggest Loser and Project Runway.

In addition, his clients included Ryan Seacrest, 44, Jimmy Kimmel, 51, and Carson Daly, 46.

The manager went on to work at Octagon Entertainment before starting his own management and production company The Alternative three years ago.

John was also a singer and songwriter, with bands including The Stingrays and The Tearaways.

Over the years, his groups supported the likes of R.E.M and Guns N’ Roses.

Tributes have poured in from stars on Twitter, with fox Business Network’s Trish Regan, 46, saying: “I am devastated to learn my longtime friend and agent #JohnFerriter passed away last night.

“John was an exceptional person — an extraordinary friend and a talented and trusted advisor,” she continued.

“My thoughts go out to his family and his many friends on this sad day.”

Sports reporter Jim Bowden, 58, also wrote: “He was a great LOYAL friend, mentor, brother. He will be missed.”

Canadian presenter Ben Mulroney, 43, tweeted: “Rest In Peace, John Ferriter. A man who believes in me even when I doubted myself.

“He was my manager and my friend and I will miss him deeply.”
