Piers Morgan will be helping Lorraine Kelly celebrate 35 years of broadcasting by joining the star on her breakfast show.

Yes, this Monday the two presenters will be seated alongside each other for one heck of a special episode.

After Good Morning Britain comes off air, the controversial star will run across the studios in order to take the reigns of his buddy’s programme.

And it turns out that the 54-year-old has a couple of surprises up his sleeve – but we wouldn’t expect anything else.

‘To survive 35 years at the top of television is an extraordinary feat,’ the father-of-four expressed.

‘Lorraine’s a lovely lady and brilliant broadcaster…I look forward to sharing her big celebration in some way that makes her yelp in horror.’

The episode will be jam packed with a number of special moments and will even have a brand new opening sequence to mark the occasion.

There’ll also be celebrity tributes, a look over some of Lorraine’s most daring fashion moments as well as a montage of her best bits.

Sharing their excitement for the show Lorraine Editor Victoria Kennedy gave a sneak peek at what viewers can expect.

She said: ‘Lorraine is a stalwart of British broadcasting. She must have racked up more live TV hours than almost any other presenter over the course of her career.

‘She’s interviewed everyone who’s anyone and covered moving stories, from Dunblane to the death of Diana, Princess of Wales, so Monday’s programme is going to be very special.

‘As the show is a surprise, Lorraine doesn’t know quite what to expect.

‘But I can promise we will have some poignant moments and funny clips as well as some familiar faces to help mark the occasion. It’s live TV so anything can happen, especially with Piers in our studio!’

Watch Monday 30 September’s special Lorraine show on ITV at 8.30am to 9.25am.
