Piers Morgan Twitter: GMB host erupts at 'gutless' Boris Johnson over 'shameless' move

Piers Morgan, 54, was furious after discovering Boris Johnson, 55, was set to give interviews to two major BBC outlets, including Good Morning Britain’s rival BBC Breakfast. Erupting on Twitter, in view of his 6.8 million followers, the GMB host directly addressed the Prime Minister, blasting: “Are you really doing an interview with @BBCBreakfast this morning Prime Minister @BorisJohnson – after all your promises to do @GMB? How utterly shameless. And gutless too,” he insisted.

Morgan also went on to share a post from GMB’s Senior Political Producer Anne Alexander who noted: “So, @BorisJohnson is doing live interviews with TWO BBC outlets this morning, plus several pre records with other broadcasters later this morning.

“@GMB is the only major UK broadcaster getting ZERO time with the PM,” she said.

Sharing the tweet on his own account, Morgan jibed: “Pathetic.”

The presenter went on to make it quite clear how irritated he was that the Prime Minister had avoided GMB when a Twitter user told him: “Honestly you just seem extremely bitter that he chose another channel for an interview.”

“That’s because I am,” Morgan said bluntly.

Johnson is due to appear on BBC Breakfast and BBC Radio 4 today.

The Prime Minister’s BBC interviews come as he is set to unveil details of his final Brexit plan.

According to the MailOnline, he will share his solution to the Irish backstop with EU officials later today.

Senior Government sources told the publication much of Johnson’s plan will depend on whether Angela Merkel, 65, “comes out fighting” for a compromise Brexit deal.
