Chuka Umunna left the Labour Party to join Change UK – The Independent Group for Change, before later stepping down to join the Liberal Democrats after the European elections. During a Brexit interview on Good Morning Britain, host Piers Morgan took a swipe at the Streatham MP for switching so quickly between parties. After being asked what he thought was going to happen, Mr Umunna said: “I think there will be an election.
“I don’t see how you can govern with a majority of one if there is still a majority of one, so I think it is inevitable”.
But, the ITV host delivered a quick swipe at the MP. He said: “And which party will you be representing?”
Smirking, the Lib Dem MP replied: “My party, the Liberal Democrats, of course.”
The pair both burst out laughing as the presenter quipped there would only be “one party left” for Mr Umunna to join – hinting at the Tories.

Pointing at Iain Duncan Smith, Mr Umunna said: “I would never join that party.”
Mr Umunna was then pressed by the GMB panel for previously saying he would not join the Lib Dems.
Asked what seat he would stand in, Mr Umunna said: “Whatever seat my party wants me to stand.”
Mr Umunna joined the Lib Dems just 10 days after he left Change UK, the party which he helped set up.
The former Labour MP left Jeremy Corbyn’s party in frustration at the handling of Brexit and anti-Semitism.
Ms Soubry told the BBC last month: “Chuka going to the Lib Dems, these are very heavy blows so soon. I am sorry, but you stick at something a bit longer than a couple of months. Especially when you have got had the courage to leave your own political party.
“When you have worked with somebody from a different political party, and you thought, this person has got so much to offer.
“I really believed this person is the future for our country. Quite a great double act I thought actually.
“I believed in him. He was a major reason I left my political party. I believed in this new project. It was like, we had a big disappointment and he was gone. That was not the person I thought he was.”
Some MPs who moved to Change UK also left after the poor European election results earlier this year.
It comes as Boris Johnson delivered a speech on the steps of 10 Downing Street on Monday vowing to deliver Brexit by the end of October “come what may”.
But, there have been suggestions Mr Johnson could try to call a snap election if MPs vote on Tuesday to block a no deal exit from the EU.
