Piers Morgan: ‘Susanna Reid, people s**g you off behind your back’ GMB co-host tells her

In a recent joint interview with Piers Morgan, 54, and Susanna Reid, 48, the pair discussed their relationship on and off screen. The Good Morning Britain host took the opportunity to warn his colleague that people will “stab you in the back” as they chatted about their careers. Speaking to Daily Mail’s Event magazine, Piers explained: “In newspapers they stab you in the front, in TV they stab you in the back. I’d rather people s**g me off to my face than behind my back, which they all do in television.” Susanna disagreed with his notion, as she replied: “That has never been my experience.”

The outspoken journalist fired back: “Come off it, Susanna, people s**g you off behind your back, it’s just a fact.”

It didn’t take long for the ITV front woman to seemingly agree with Piers, as she recalled her co-star’s first “stand-in stint” on Good Morning Britain, admitting to talking about the broadcaster behind his back.

“Piers first came to GMB to do a stand-in stint and it was like being in a hurricane with everything tossed in the air, complete chaos,” Susanna mused.

“Several months later, the head of the show came over and said, ‘What do you think about Piers Morgan coming on here permanently?’

She continued: “I had to take my mic pack off to make sure no one else in the studio heard my answer. I just said, ’Do you know what you are letting yourself in for?’”

Susanna has been a co-presenter on GMB since the show debuted in 2014, after she departed BBC Breakfast the same year.

The following year, Piers joined and has been a firm favourite with viewers since his appearance.

During the same interview, the TV anchor could not help but make a cheeky comment about his co-star Susanna.

The TV journalist quipped that the pair would be “at it” if he wasn’t married.

Piers joked: “Well if we were both single we’d be at it like stoats in a sack.”

After Susanna was reportedly left unamused by his remark, he added: “With other people, of course.”

He later claimed his colleague finds him “irresistible” which she adamantly refuted.

He added: “Obviously she finds me irresistible but I’m a married man.”

Shutting down his cheeky remark, Susanna replied: “Oh please, not the sexual tension again.”

Piers tied the knot with his second wife Celia Walden, 43, in 2010, while Susanna is believed to be single following her split from Crystal Palace boss Steve Parish, 54, this year.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6.30am on ITV.
