Piers Morgan has taken aim at his fellow Good Morning Britain host Adil Ray.

The controversial presenter is known for sparking feuds among his A-lister rivals – and recently called out Ant McPartlin for scooping a National Television Award despite taking time off.

And it seems Adil is the father-of-four’s next victim, as he threw shade on Twitter following the 45-year-old’s appearance on Have I Got News For You.

When he was asked what the best part of filling in for Piers on the breakfast show was, the actor joked: ‘You don’t have to meet Piers Morgan.’

But this didn’t sit right with the regular host, as he shot down Adil on his socials.

Sharing a picture of his stand-in, the 54-year-old quipped: ‘For my part, the best thing about Adil filling in for me is he always tanks the ratings…’

Firing back at the claims, Adil retweeted the post alongside the caption: ‘FAKE NEWS. SAD.’

Fans were quick to comment where they threw their support behind both presenters.

‘We love you both in different ways.. you’re charming, he’s umm.. Piers,’ one wrote while another added: ‘I have no problems with you on GMB plus you support a class team, nothing else matters.’

Piers is no stranger when it comes to battling it out with his fellow celebs – however, he’s also good at putting his feuds to bed.

Just recently, the star revealed that he’d called a truce following his spat with Ant when chatting to The Sunday Mirror.

He told the publication: ‘When the story came out [Ant] gave me a call and said: “I want you to know there’s no hard feelings my end, we are still pals.”

‘I said “Absolutely, mate. I don’t want to fall out over this.”’

Piers added: ‘I didn’t accept I had done anything particularly wrong, I think the point I was making was a valid one and I think a lot of people felt the same way.’

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV at 6am. Metro.co.uk have reached out to Piers’ reps for further comment.
