Piers Morgan slams BBC bosses as GMB host defends Naga Munchetty over Trump racism row


“There’s nothing wrong with what she said! She didn’t even call Trump a racist, she just said if you say that kind of thing, it has a history of racism to it and you’ve got to be very careful about what you say.”

Susanna added: “It’s extraordinary. The BBC upheld complaint against her. David Joran, the Head of Editorial Standards said ‘The problem was not her resounding to that clearly racist comment or responding personally to what it’s like for a person of colour to have a remark of that nature directed against yourself.’

“He said ‘The issues arose when went on further to discuss President Trump himself, what his motivations were for that and the breached our impartiality requirements.’”

After Susanna looked quizzical as she read out the statement, Piers interjected to offer his stance on what Mr Jordan had said.
