The ITV Good Morning Britain presenter took to Twitter to take a swipe at Madonna as she performed at the Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv, Israel last night.
Witnessed by his 6.64 million followers, Piers Morgan said Madonna’s career was over in a savage take-down, writing: “RIP Madonna’s career.”
The comment comes after many Eurovision viewers claimed that Madonna’s performance was out of tune and agreed with Piers last the 60-year-old star was past her prime.

Another added: “Madonna’s performance at Eurovision 2019 failed to deliver. Out of tune cya.”
Despite this, there were some fans of her performance, with one Twitter user exclaiming: “Give her a break! I thought she was great.”
Another added: “She just solidified the fact that she is the ballsiest pop star to ever exist.”

After the UK’s Michael Rice game last in the competition, with just 16 points, Piers then added: “Cheer up Michael Rice, we may have come last but we were still better than Madonna.”
As well as sing some of her hits such as Like A Prayer, Madonna also made a political statement during her performance – making an apparent call for peace between Israeli and Palestine.
One of her dancers wearing a costume bearing a Palestinian flag embraced another dancer with an Israeli flag – as they climbed a set of stairs at the climax of the performance.
Guest star Quavo also sang the lyrics “Not everyone is coming to the future/Not everyone is learning from the past.”

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU), who organise the Eurovision Song Contest, released a statement about Madonna’s performance afterwards, saying Madonna had been told the event was non-political.
They said: “In the live broadcast… two of Madonna’s dancers briefly displayed the Israeli and Palestinian flags on the back of their outfits.
“This element of the performance was not part of the rehearsals which had been cleared,” it added. “The Eurovision Song Contest is a non-political event and Madonna had been made aware of this.”
The Eurovision Song Contest was won last night by The Netherlands’ Duncan Laurence, with 492 points.
