Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan, 55, is no stranger to challenging Government ministers about their dealing of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, however after a string of heated interviews earlier this year, MPs decided to boycott being interviewed on the ITV morning show. Today, Piers discussed the situation on This Morning.
Piers said hearing stories about those affected by coronavirus, such as Kate Garraway’s husband Derek Draper, has contributed towards his anger at the Government’s dealing of the virus.
Kate’s 53-year-old husband Derek, a former Labour lobbyist, remains in hospital after contracting the deadly disease in March.
He is now free of the virus, but is still battling further health complications including problems with his intestines.
During Piers’ interview with Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, he admitted he had maybe gone too far when challenging some MPs on the show, but insisted those affected by the disease needed answers.

He explained: “I had work colleagues, Kate Garraway’s husband, in a coma.
“I had three friends who lost their parents in care homes, I had others who narrowly escaped and nearly died.”
He added: “Sometimes I know that I probably went a little too far but I was genuinely angry.”
“I do feel if you were that closely touched by it… It made me so angry, in my view, the way they mishandled it.”
“I make no apology for holding their feet to the fire.”
Earlier today, Boris announced a ban of more than six people in social gatherings amid a new surge of coronavirus cases across the UK.
He apologised for having to take such measures, and said it “breaks my heart” that this could mean loved ones may not be able to meet.
He said in his latest speech: “I wish that we did not have to take this step.
“But as your Prime Minister, I must do what is necessary to stop the spread of the virus and save lives.”
The latest official figures show that 2,420 more cases have been recorded today, with a further 30 deaths.
Following Boris’ announcement, Piers took to Twitter to hit out at the Prime Minister in a further swipe.
In view of his 7.6 million followers, he wrote: “Boris Johnson doesn’t know what the hell he’s doing or saying.
“Rather worrying traits in a Prime Minister during a pandemic.”
