Piers Morgan rips off his tie in GMB strop as he rages against wardrobe department

Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan wasn’t best pleased with his outfit this morning, as he compared the colour of his tie to “vomit”.

Halfway through this morning’s show, he decided he’d had enough and ripped the tie off, casting it on the ground.

He announced: “What are they going to do, fire me for not wearing a tie?

“That’s the way it works when you kick me out in vomit ties.”

Over on Twitter, viewers were surprised to see Piers’ undressing on their screens, as he tore off the offending tie.

One said: “Psstt piers put the tie back on lol.”

A second remarked: “Piers absolutely creases me! Taking his tie off halfway through GMB.”

Piers fumed at the wardrobe department during the show

While a third chipped in: “My son just came in as @piersmorgan was taking off his tie and goes, ‘Jesus no, he’s not going to strip is he?'”

Earlier in the programme, Piers revealed he had been planning on wearing a pink tie in the studio, but Susanna Reid‘s dress threw a spanner in the works.

Once Susanna appeared in a green dress, Piers said the wardrobe department suggested he wear a tie in a similar colour.

Piers refused to wear the “vomit” coloured tie any longer on set

Furious with the accusation, she griped: “I had nothing to do with it!”

Before adding: “We don’t need to look matchy-matchy like we’re some couple.”

The presenting duo made waves yesterday when they appeared on the Loose Women panel, discussing their working relationship.

The unfortunate green tie ended up on the studio floor

Gloria Hunniford couldn’t help but dig for answers, as she asked whether there would be any “romantic nonsense” if the hosts were both single at the same time.

Without a hitch, Susanna replied: “I mean hell would freeze over before I would even consider it.”

Good Morning Britain airs on weekdays at 6am on ITV.
