PIERS Morgan revealed that his son has shown symptoms of coronavirus on Good Morning Britain.
The 54-year-old presenter shocked his co-host Susanna Reid with the admission on the ITV breakfast show today.
While talking to Daily Mail journalist Andrew Pierce about his coronavirus symptoms, Piers said: “One of my sons had it in a much milder way. My youngest boy. I think most people are associating (lack of taste and smell) that with the virus, it’s a very unnerving thing to get.”
Susanna turned to Piers and said: “Your son?”
And Piers said: “Yes, he had mild symptoms which have cleared up now.”
Piers has three sons with his ex wife Marion Shalloe, including 19-year-old Albert, Spencer, 22, and Stanley, 26.
He has a seven-year-old daughter Elise, from his current marriage to Celia Walden.
Piers’ sons have been in the public eye, with Spencer making headlines when he falsely announced he would be heading into the Love Island villa.
And Albert was in the news after his dad demanded he switch to football following a rugby injury.
Piers told Good Morning Britain today that he does not have coronavirus symptoms after he started coughing live on air.
Chatting to Dr Hilary, who sat away from Piers and Susanna, he said: “I just coughed there and I know some people at home will be thinking, oh there he goes he has got it.
“People on TV cough all the time, I hear people do it on air. But it will worry people.
“The moment you do everyone goes mad.
“I don’t have a persistent cough of symptoms of coronavirus.”
And Dr Hilary replied: “What I mean by a cough is five or six times an hour, it’s new cough, it is a dry cough it is out of the blue.
“For at least half a day or probably longer than that.”
