PIERS Morgan has revealed he’s trying to lose weight by eating sushi for dinner after piling on the “lockdown lard”.
The Good Morning Britain host shared a snap of his Japanese-inspired dinner, joking it was the size of a “canapé”.
But now the TV presenter is taking control of his diet, eating sushi for dinner – lovingly prepared by his wife Celia Walden.
Under a photo of the plate of food, Piers wrote: “I like sushi, don’t get me wrong. But more as a canapé than a lose-the-lockdown-lard ‘dinner’.”
The snap shows a small variety of fish and rice combinations, alongside soy sauce, wasabi and pickled ginger.
Piers tagged his wife in the caption, crediting her for creating the masterpiece and helping him kickstart the diet.
It’s not the first time that Piers has made comments about his weight – last year making his followers laugh as he compared himself to a “fat” ornament.
After weeks of overeating in this first national lockdown, he wrote alongside a photo of a ceramic jester ornament: “Lockdown diet is turning me into my ornaments.”
Months later, he revealed he’s been shamed into embarking on a weight-loss programme after gaining half a stone on holiday.
The plan included limits on booze intake, a stringent diet and workouts with former Olympian and personal trainer Sarah Lindsay.
He told The Sun: “I’m going to see a new personal trainer, and unfortunately Celia’s taken it all quite seriously, so suddenly it’s all the good stuff’s gone and all the kale’s come in and the quinoa and vegetables.
“A lot of vegetables. A lot of salmon. A lot less Bordeaux – I’m down to one glass a night.”
