Piers Morgan has praised Nicola Sturgeon live on Good Morning Britain today for her leadership during the global pandemic.
The 55-year-old presenter interviewed the First Minister and even went as far as to say that he believes she is one of the top three leaders in the world during the coronavirus pandemic.
Nicola Sturgeon appeared on the show to urge Scots to follow coronavirus guidance as cases continue to rise.
Lockdown restrictions in the Glasgow region are being extended to cover East Dunbartonshire and Renfrewshire in an attempt to stop Covid spreading out of control.
After the ITV interview had wrapped, Piers and co-presenter Susanna Reid introduced Lorraine Kelly to tell viewers what to expect on her show.

But before Lorraine could give a preview of her show, she praised the FM. She said: “You know what, you were right Piers…Isn’t it good that every single day she comes on addresses the nation, she comes on and talks to us.”
Piers responded: “I think she’s really impressive. I’ve got to say that in a crisis a real one, you find out what leadership is about.
“And it’s very interesting to me that the most impressive leaders in this crisis have not been the blustering populists – Boris Johnson, Trump, the guy in Brazil and others. It’s actually people like Nicola Sturgeon, Angela Merkel, Jacinda Ardern.”

On the show today, Nicola Sturgeon spoke about adding the two council areas to the list one week after people in Glasgow, East Renfrewshire and West Dunbartonshire were banned from mixing in each other’s houses.
She said: “Every leader has to make his or her own decisions about how they conduct themselves and how they decide to approach this and I can only speak for myself. I think in a situation as serious as the one we’ve been living through, as uncertain and unpredictable, it’s really important to be out there front and centre trying to explain to people the decisions that we’re making – decisions that have a big impact on people’s lives.
“We don’t have all of the answers, that’s been true all of the way through, this is a virus we have had to learn about, we’re still learning about, we’ve had to change approach in some circumstances and that’s really difficult.
She added: “I don’t think there is a substitute to getting up there before people, trying to explain that as best we can and being accountable and under scrutiny for that. And that includes coming onto programmes like this which I’m sure some of us sometimes would prefer not to have to do, but it’s part of the responsibilities we have.”
And this is not the first time Piers has praised the First Minister as back in May for being very clear with her messages unlike the Prime Minister.
Speaking back then he said: “I totally agree with that and think you’ve been totally consistent and clear in your messaging.
“You may not want to criticise Boris Johnson but you yourself said you don’t understand what this ‘stay alert’ new message is.
“But what is clear from this new message is that he’s abandoned ‘Stay At Home’ and most people from this morning, from what we’re picking up, are now taking that as a sign that actually we don’t need to stay at home anymore.
“Which seems to me, giving the state of this battle with the state of this virus unbelievably reckless.”
