Surprising no one, Piers Morgan is over the moon and crowing all over social media as Good Morning Britain has been nominated for its first Bafta awards.

‘BREAKING: Half of all the BAFTA nominations for Best News Coverage have gone to @GMB – our first ever BAFTA noms too,’ he shared on Twitter.

‘Very proud of the whole team!’

Tweeting coverage of the nominations, he also suggested that the nominations for the ITV morning show ‘must be killing’ other media outlets.

‘Pretty stunning to see ⁦@GMB⁩ get HALF of all the Best News Coverage nominations in ⁦@BAFTA⁩ TV 2019 awards,’ he continued.

‘Ps You may have to all start calling me “Dahling” after this.’

The popular breakfast show has two nominations in the best news coverage category for two segments, On A Knife Edge, a special which looked at knife crime, and an exclusive interview with Thomas Markle, the Duchess of Sussex’s father.
