Piers Morgan: Good Morning Britain presenter lands new 'head judge' role


Piers Morgan, 54, took to social media this morning to announce some big news.

The television presenter, who is best known for hosting Good Morning Britain with Susanna Reid, has landed a top position on the judging panel of a worldwide competition according to his latest Instagram post.

Piers will be the head judge at the famous Miss World ceremony which takes place in London at the weekend.

The TV star shared the news with his 801,000 followers on the social media site this morning.

He announced: “BREAKING: I will be head judge at this year’s Miss World ceremony on Saturday in London.”

He went on to joke: “I can’t begin to imagine how thrilled the 120 contestants will be to hear this…”

Fans of the presenter and Instagram users headed straight to the comments section to share their thoughts on the news.

One user wrote: “Best man for the job,” while another added: “That’s brilliant.”

A third user cheekily asked: “Good morning Piers, do you require an assistant.”

The Miss World 2019 pageant will take place at the ExCeL centre this Saturday.

It will be the 69th edition of the long-running competition.

Vanessa Ponce of Mexico, the current title holder, will be at the event to crown her successor.

The 27-year-old model was named Miss World during last year’s ceremony in China.

Miss Northern Ireland Lauren Leckey, Miss Wales Gabriella Jukes, Miss England Bhasha Mukherjee and Miss Scotland Keryn Matthew are amongst the 2019 contestants.
