Piers Morgan: GMB host on ‘uncomfortable realisation’ as he admits wife has ‘a go at me’

Piers Morgan, 54, joined Lord Alan Sugar, 72, and businessman Mark Wright, 29, at the latter’s inaugural business conference, ClimbCon, last month. The trio chatted about politics before the discussion diverted onto more personal matters including their home life. The Good Morning Britain presenter was quizzed about his Twitter usage where the ITV favourite admitted his wife Celia Walden, “will have a go at him” for being on the micro-blogging site so frequently. Piers admitted: “I’ve noticed my wife will have a go at me for using Twitter whilst she is literally spending eight hours a day ordering stuff off of eBay.

“She’s buying dresses, handbags and shoes. So to me there is no difference. It’s the same thing.”

Lord Sugar seemingly agreed with the TV personality as he nodded, saying: “True.”

Piers continued: “My wife said ‘Your first thought in the morning is Lord Sugar when it should be me.’

“That was an uncomfortable realisation. I’d literally wake up and my first thought was to slag him off on Twitter but it brings me so much pleasure.”

The GMB host’s comments was met with raucous laughter from the conference audience.

Piers and his wife Celia tied the knot in 2010 and the couple share a daughter together – seven-year-old Elise.

The ITV favourite has sons Albert, Stanley and Spencer from his first marriage to Marion Shalloe.

Meanwhile, the couple recently stepped out as the VIP guests invited to Britain’s Got Talent’s judge Simon Cowell’s excluisve summer soirée last week.

Celia certainly turned heads as she rocked an eye-catching gown as the pair entered the V&A museum for the star-studded bash.

Piers’ wife showed off her enviable curves in a stunning floor-length gown.

She paired the look with a gold designer clutch bag and chic nude heels.

Her caramel-coloured tresses were styled in a cascade of curls, which fell below her bosom.

Piers looked equally dapper as he sported a navy blue suit which he teamed with an unbuttoned white shirt and black shoes.

He later shared a shot of himself with Amanda Holden and host Simon Cowell outside the iconic venue.

“Reunited! The first – and best, if you go by the ratings – @bgt judging team. Be quite fun to work with these two again. We always have such a laugh. @noholdenback @SimonCowell,” he said.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV at 6.30am.
