Piers Morgan: ‘Genuine question’ GMB host asks why anyone should vote for Jo Swinson

“The first thing we will do is stop Brexit and then we will move on to tackle the challenges which we face.”

Piers retweeted the clip to his 6.9 million Twitter followers and asked his fans why anyone should vote for her.

He wrote: “Why should anyone vote for someone who refuses to honour the result of votes? Genuine question.”

The host also said the “stakes couldn’t be higher”, as he spoke out on the news of the election.

He wrote: “BREAKING: Britain will have another general election on December 12.

“Stakes couldn’t be higher… but at least this will sort out the Brexit farce once & for all, assuming those who lose accept the result of the vote.

“And I’m not sure that assumption can be safely made.”

Sky’s Adam Boulton asked the Good Morning Britain host: “Are you predicting the result of #GE2019?”

Piers replied: “It will effectively be a Brexit election & I’ve always believed Leave would win any kind of second vote on Brexit by a bigger margin.

“But we’re in very unpredictable times, so let’s see…”

The House of Lords still need to approve the decision from the House of Commons tomorrow and when it’s accepted, it will mean the UK will have its first December election since 1923.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson said it was time for the country to “come together to get Brexit down”, minutes after the vote.

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn said: “This election is a once-in-a-generation chance to transform our country and take on the vested interests holding people back.”

He said his party would “now launch the most ambitious and radical campaign for real change that our country has ever seen”.

Parliament will be shut down from November 6 ready for the election to take place.
