Joining the hosts, the medical professional said: “We’re sitting two metres apart. We’ve measured it.
“We’re practising what we preach, hopefully,” he continued, with this measure being implemented on the show for several weeks now.
Obeying the rules, however, Piers and Lorraine spoke with the world’s oldest man Bob Weighton this morning from his home in West Sussex after he celebrated a record-breaking birthday yesterday.
After interviewing the 112-year-old, the presenter wrote on his Twitter page: “One of my all-time favourite guests. What a wonderful, wise man.
“Thanks Bob Weighton and very happy 112th birthday for yesterday! Loved your quote: ‘Better to make a friend of an enemy than an enemy of a friend.’ @GMB.”
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
