Piers Morgan brands TV star ‘pathetic twerp’ amid Prince Harry and Meghan controversy

Prince Harry, 34, and Meghan Markle, 38, have faces hypocrisy accusations after using four private jets in 11 days, most recently to Sir Elton John’s house in Nice, while urging the public to do more to tackle climate change.

Private jets burn much more fuel per person per hour as opposed to commercial flights where more people are transported per flight.

Actress Jameela Jamil, 33, took to Twitter to share her thoughts on the controversy surrounding the royal couple.

The Good Place star told her 892,000 Twitter followers: “Ugh. Dear England and English press, just say you hate her because she’s black, and him for marrying a black woman and be done with it God dammit.

“Your bullying is so embarrassing and obvious. You’ve all lost your marbles. It’s 2019. Grow up.”

Piers Morgan, 54, responded to Jameela’s tweet in view of his 6.5 millions followers.

He wrote: “I suggest YOU grow up, Ms Jamil, you pathetic virtue-signalling twerp.”

In another post, Jameela added: “And ALSO, it’s not safe for us to be on the same planes as royals or presidents you absolute muppets.

“They are prime targets for kidnap and sometimes assassination.

“It’s in the interest of us civilians to not be endangered by proximity to people in such powerful positions.”

Piers responded to her second tweet, writing: “[Crying with laughter emojis] Even by your standards this is hilariously stupid.

“The royal Sussex eco-warriors flew in BA economy to Nice last year – nobody died, from memory.”

Earlier this week, Piers Morgan shared his own thoughts on Prince Harry and Meghan’s trips.

A Twitter user asked Piers: “How many air miles have you travelled this year, Piers. Any of them essential or unavoidable?”

The presenter branded the comment “irrelevant” as he claimed he doesn’t “lecture” people about helping the environment.

He wrote: “It’s irrelevant, I don’t lecture people about the environment & saving the planet.

“If you do, like Meghan/Harry, then practise what you preach.”

Despite some people criticising the royal pair, many have defended the duo’s use of private jets.

Sir Elton John, 72, took to Twitter to defend the duo, who stayed at his home with their baby three-month-old Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

In view of his 810,000 followers, he wrote: “I am deeply distressed by today’s distorted and malicious account in the press surrounding the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s private stay at my home in Nice last week.

“Prince Harry’s Mother, Diana Princess Of Wales was one of my dearest friends.

“I feel a profound sense of obligation to protect Harry and his family from the unnecessary press intrusion that contributed to Diana’s untimely death.

“After a hectic year continuing their hard work and dedication to charity, David and I wanted the young family to have a private holiday inside the safety and tranquility of our home. To maintain a high level of much-needed protection, we provided them with a private jet flight.

“To support Prince Harry’s commitment to the environment, we ensured their flight was carbon neutral, by making the appropriate contribution to Carbon Footprint.”
