Piers Morgan has blasted the “woke brigade” after a row over classic Disney cartoon Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
The former Good Morning Britain host said anyone complaining that Prince Charming woke Snow White up with a “non-consensual kiss” should “shut the f**k up”.
His outspoken reaction came after Disneyland’s Snow White ride was attacked over the kiss scene.
As the theme park in California reopened for the first time since the coronavirus pandemic hit, bosses unveiled the revamped Snow White’s Enchanted Wish ride.
It was immediately criticised in a review by someone who said the park should have “re-imagined” the 1938 cartoon to remove the iconic “true love’s kiss” that awakened Snow White from the spell cast on her by the Evil Queen.
Sharing his thoughts on Twitter, Piers fumed: “For the love of God… Can the woke brigade please just shut the f*ck up? You’re pathetic & exhausting, and nobody in the real world agrees with you. Thanks.”
He later decided to pen a whole newspaper column about it, teasing: “My new @DailyMail column is about Snow White, the heroic Prince’s kiss that saved her life, and a sickening new woke campaign to leave her dead. Posting soon.”
As he shared the piece, he added: “Leave Snow White’s hero Prince alone, you insufferable woke brats – I do not consent to you cancelling him as a predator for kissing her to save her life. Love, PIERS xxx”
It it, he wrote : “[The ride] now ends with the famous scene from the smash hit movie of the iconic ‘true love’s kiss’ between the Prince and Snow White as she sleeps.
“And it’s this addition to the ride that has sent the wokies out of their minds because they say the Prince didn’t get consent before kissing Snow White and is therefore a sickening sexual predator whose actions will encourage others to commit similar acts of depravity.”
Piers regularly launches counter-attacks on people calling for things to be “cancelled” when he doesn’t believe they should be.
He recently went after Demi Lovato after she criticised a frozen yoghurt company and even said that he himself refused to be cancelled over his comments about Meghan Markle, which saw him step down from his role on GMB rather than apologise to her.
Piers’ former co-host Susanna Reid has also slammed criticism of the Snow White kiss.
