Piers Morgan celebrated five years alongside Susanna Reid on the breakfast show Good Morning Britain last month. Despite reaching this milestone, the presenter has only been seen in the ITV studio with fellow presenter Ben Shepherd once.
Piers jokingly accused the Tipping Point star of having a contact which stated that the pair had to be kept away from each other.
The 55-year-old went one step further by claiming it was because Ben couldn’t compete “aesthetically” with him.
The father-of-four made his comments while sharing a picture of the pair to mark Ben’s birthday.
The TV star, who normally hosts the show with Kate Garraway, turned 46 yesterday.

Many took to the comments section of the post to share their thoughts and their observations.
“That’s a loving look right there. You are both fantastic presenters! Oh yeah..Happy Birthday Ben,” one social media user wrote next to the picture.
“Love is in the air,” another remarked, while a third added: “Bromance.”
“I’d love to know what you were talking about in that moment. You’re grasping your leg quite intently,” a fourth person said of Ben, before adding “Happy Birthday”.
“I bet your thoughts were oh no not him!” another user joked.
The Good Morning Britain stars also celebrated another birthday in the studio this week.
Piers’ co-star Susanna turned 50 on Thursday.
The presenter took to Instagram to mark her special day.
“Happy 50th Birthday to my fabulous, long-suffering TV wife @susannareid100 who when first told I’d been hired to be her @gmb co-host 5yrs ago responded: ‘Are you f***ing joking????!’ Time’s been a great healer…”
