Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has promised Mikel Arteta he will give everything for Arsenal while he is at the club, reports say.
The Arsenal striker is the subject of intense transfer speculation and is reportedly keen to leave following two years at the London club.
The Telegraph claim Arteta has a fight on his hands to keep Aubameyang at the club, but the new Arsenal boss has received assurances from his star forward over his commitment to the Gunners.
Arteta was pleased to see Aubameyang put in maximum effort in the defeat to Chelsea, in which he scored Arsenal’s only goal.
Aubameyang’s performance against Chelsea stood out to Arteta since the coach knows the Gabon international would prefer to play through the middle than on the left side of attack.
The 30-year-old is committed to Arsenal for the rest of the season, but he is desperate to play Champions League football again.
While it seems Aubameyang is set on leaving Arsenal, Arteta will try and convince him to stay at the club beyond the summer.
Aubameyang has less than two years left on his current deal and has so far refused to put pen to paper on a new contract.
