Phoebe Waller-Bridge has broken hearts by doubling down on the fact that series two of Fleabag is all that we’re getting from the cult show.

But there’s plenty more PWB goodness to come.

The 34-year-old is writing a feature film which she plans to direct, and while there’s no details on plot, we can pretty confidently say we will crawl over people to get a ticket.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, the Fleabag star and writer said: ‘The day I wrapped Fleabag, I went to bed thinking, “I’m never going to have another idea again. Oh s***”. I woke up with the vision of this film.’

And while she doesn’t want to appear on camera, Phoebe reckons that’s rather unrealistic, saying: ‘I blatantly will end up in it.’

The star added that she wants the film to have a theatrical release, so that’s Netflix out of the running.

Phoebe – who is up for four Emmys personally, with Fleabag up for 11 awards and Killing Eve, on which she acts as executive producer – up for nine – has plenty to keep her busy asides from this mysterious film, though.

The London-born writer has an executive producer title and a recurring role in HBO comedy Run, starring Domhnall Gleeson and Merritt Wever.

And of course, she has joined Bond 25 as one of five screenwriters, becoming only the second woman credited as such on a James Bond film.

However, she downplayed her involvement in the final product, saying: ‘A lot has been made of me coming on board because I’m a woman, and that’s wonderful. But also I can’t take credit for the movie that was written. It’s Cary’s [Fukunaga, the director] movie.’

Phoebe will return to the stage next week for the final run of the Fleabag stage show in Wyndham’s Theatre.
