Phoebe Waller-Bridge is ‘being lined up to write Bond 26’ and we are ready

Phoebe is currently working on the 25th Bond film, No Time To Die

Phoebe Waller-Bridge is reportedly being lined up to write Bond 26.

As well as writing the 25th instalment in the 007 franchise, titled No Time To Die, the 34-year-old could also be putting pen to paper for the next film, and we are totally on board with that.

Phoebe has reportedly impressed producers so much, that they want her to work on the next Bond movie, according to Mail Online.

‘Phoebe’s contribution was great – far greater than we’d anticipated,’ a source told the publication. ‘She was across the entire script.’

The writer was previously brought into No Time To Die to ‘add a layer’ to the screenplay, but also changed the dialogue for male characters and became involved in scenes involving genetic warfare.

The source also added that Phoebe helped to ‘cheer the mood’ of the film’s set.

‘At first, no one knew what was going on,’ they continued.

‘Now everyone’s happy. This is going to be a great Bond.’

Phoebe previously admitted that she wanted to ‘sneak’ in some of her signature feminist humour into the Bond 25 script.

Phoebe also admitted that the character of James Bond ‘intrigues’ her (Picture: Rex)

Speaking to The Observer, she said: ‘The film they’ve got is such an exciting story. It’s been a joy to work on.

‘It’s mainly about making them feel like real people, which they do in the previous films.

‘I think Daniel’s films have had really fantastic Bond girls and it’s about keeping that up.’

When asked about her feminist humour making its way into the motion picture, she replied: ‘Well, we’ll see, we’ll see what I can sneak in.’

Phoebe also admitted that the character of James Bond ‘intrigues’ her, just like Villanelle from her BBC series, Killing Eve.

‘There’s something about James Bond that always intrigued me in a similar way that Villanelle did. They live in a fantasy!’ she told The Hollywood Reporter.

‘But it’s a life none of us would ever want, if we’re honest. We don’t want to go put a bullet in someone’s head to sleep with people and have martinis. It’s a kind of fantasy nightmare.’

No Time For Die is set to be released on 3 April 2020.
