Eamonn then admitted Phillip did in fact appreciate his humour and added there are “dreary humourless” people in the world.

“He did Helen…God there are some dreary humourless people in The World. He’s cool and appreciated it. Think I would have said it if he didn’t?” he wrote back.

Phillip came out as gay in a social media statement before appearing on This Morning to openly discuss his feelings.

The candid statement read: “You never know what’s going on in someone’s seemingly perfect life, what issues they are struggling with, or the state of their wellbeing.

“And so you won’t know what has been consuming me for the last few years.

“With the strength and support of my wife and daughters, I have been coming to terms with the fact that I am gay.”
