ROCKER’S VITAL ROLE IN BOLTON RESCUE

BOLTON Wanderers were rescued from the brink of extinction with help from Pink Floyd’s Nick Mason.

The 145-year-old club were saved by a £10million offer from group Football Ventures and the 75-year-old drummer.

It came as a huge relief for the League One club’s fans after Bury’s demise.

Football Ventures boss Sharon Brittan had struggled to secure the finan-ces to take Bolton out of administration. But new backers — including Mason — were brought on board to net the takeover.
