PewDiePie Net Worth 2019: Hardwork And Video Games Paid Off Well For This Most Subscribed YouTuber – Business Times

Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg from Gothenburg, Sweden has encouraged children to be active and interactive while looking through their tablets. His Let’s Play YouTube content was very influential, at first criticized because of his commentaries of horror games.

Famously known as PewDiePie, the talented Swedish actor/comedian started it off like a YouTube account named Pewdie in 2006 and came with his current name PewDiePie in 2010 when he forgot the password of his initial account.

Every success started with hardships and disappointments as his parents did not agree with his videos and gaming; the same goes for the rest of the elders who wanted what’s best for their children.

Felix Kjellberg dropped out of school in Chalmers and pursued his first love, not knowing that gaming can bring money for him in the future. It was described as something he just “loved to do.”

In video game commentaries, Kjellberg started with commentaries of mainstream video games including Minecraft and Call of Duty, although he was particularly noted for his Let’s Plays of Amnesia: The Dark Descent and its related mods.

And with that he focuses more on horror and action video games, reaching 5 million subscribers in a span one year in 2012 on his channel. His weekly vlogs under the title of Fridays with PewDiePie added to his growing career which made him reach his significant achievement.

Becoming the most-subscribed user was heightened even more when he signed with Maker Studios, a multi-channel network (MCN) that develops that channels under them.

This had eventually helped Felix Kjellberg a lot to reach 15 million subscribers, the first YouTuber to attain such. Currently has 94 million subscribers, and over 3 thousand videos, Kjellberg hilariously calls his followers as the “9-year-old army.”

Although T-Series has the most number of subscribers at this time, PewDiePie has reached a lot to make him richer than before because of his videos and gaming. By estimating his average views per month, more or less 180 million, every 1000 views correspond to $7.50.

Felix Kjellberg decently gets $1 million in a month with an hourly rate of $3.4, however, in 2013, the Wall Street Journal claimed it to be $4 million with a video by Kjellberg to support it.

Despite some negative publicities along the way, Kjellberg still got 12 million dollars as his net worth in 2017 putting him on the top 6th for the highest earning YouTubers list.

For two years now, his net worth rises to around $30-$50 million and somewhere approximately $20 million in 2018 and 2019 respectively. Playing video games may not be bad after all, but it takes a lot of creativity, hard work, and pure luck to achieve what PewDiePie has now.
