As the former electrician delighted over the news, Petra’s Formula 1 tycoon father, Bernie Ecclestone, 88, seemed less impressed, saying he ‘doesn’t know what the hurry is’ – just 14 months on from his daughter’s explosive divorce.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, he said: ‘I told her I don’t know what the hurry is… I don’t understand the reason.’
The businessman’s reaction stood in stark contrast to Sam’s words.
