Christie Brinkley’s ex-husband Peter Cook has allegedly been lying about new fiancée Alba Jancou’s age, weeks after announcing their engagement.
The 60-year-old architect confirmed their happy news on Instagram last month, after a romantic getaway in Greece.
At the time he insisted his bride-to-be is 21-years-old, but sources have now claimed she is actually 20, and will not be celebrating her milestone birthday until next March.
If the claims are true, this makes Alba younger than Peter’s daughter Sailor, whom he shares with model Christie.
According to Page Six, a now-deleted social media post shared on her Twitter page showed her celebrating her 18th birthday in 2017, which the publication states he said ‘carried the wrong date’.
The pair are thought to have met two years ago, when Alba – a psychology student – had just left high school, but didn’t start dating until she was ’19-and-a-half’.
Peter proposed to Alba in September, popping the question in front of a church in Santorini.
Sharing photos of their holiday on Instagram, he confirmed their engagement with a quote from F. Scott Fitzgerald.
‘SHE SAID YES,’ he told his 9,067 followers. ‘”I love her and that’s the beginning and the end
of everything” F. Scott Fitzgerald.’
Ignoring the 39-year age-gap, he told Page Six: ‘We consider ourselves incredibly lucky to have found, in each other, our soulmate.
‘We are looking forward to many years of wedded bliss!’
Peter was previously married to supermodel Christie, tying the knot way back in 1997.
The former couple welcomed son Jack in 1995, and daughter Sailor three years later.
However, their marriage came to a dramatic end in 2006 when Christie, 65, discovered he was having an affair with 19-year-old office clerk Diane Bianchi.
He was also accused of having an affair with another former employee, Samantha Cole, who was 18 at the time.
Peter went on to marry Suzanne Shaw, but they divorced in 2014 after two years of marriage.
