Pete Davidson addresses backlash to dating famous women: ‘The world wants to punch me in the throat’

Pete Davidson just joked about the world’s seemingly negative reaction to him dating famous women and we have questions.

Perhaps he’s talking about famous ex Ariana Grande and her fan base after they called off their extremely short engagement.

Or perhaps he’s bringing up his four-month fling with English actress Kate Beckinsale… and their very public tongue kissing.

Or maybe he’s referencing his new 18-year-old girlfriend Kaia Gerber – daughter of Cindy Crawford and Randy Gerber – and their eight-year age gap.

It’s probably the latter and in that case, we’re screaming.

During a Saturday Night Live skit with Colin Jost last night, Pete brought up his co-host’s relationship with Avengers actress Scarlett Johansson.

‘It’s not fair, Colin,’ Pete started. ‘You get to date a famous woman and everyone’s delighted.

‘But when I do it, the world wants to punch me in the throat. What’d I do?’

Pete then added: ‘I mean, if I’m your type of guy that your daughter or mother is into, then trust me, I’m the best-case scenario.

‘There are a million guys who look like me and I’m the only one with a job. It’s like me or Tyga.’

Pete started dating Kaia around October and the pair have been going strong ever since.

In fact, Kaia’s mum Cindy Crawford even reportedly gave her stamp of approval on the budding romance.

A source told Us Weekly: ‘Cindy’s supportive of Kaia and wants her to be happy. Right now she’s happy with Pete Davidson, so Cindy’s trying not to get involved.

‘Kaia’s young, so Cindy’s encouraging her to stay focused on her future. Kaia trusts her mum completely and looks to her as a role model.’

It’s Kaia’s first high-profile relationship and she’s clearly very keen for it to blossom, after she rocked up to the SNL studios with a customised birthday cake for her new bae.

So sweet… literally.
