PES 2020 Demo: Release, teams, stadiums, modes and everything else you need to know

The PES 2020 cover star is Barca legend Leo Messi. Konami are going all out to take on FIFA this year an will reveal more news at this year’s Gamescom.

PES 2020 is on the way and set to land in September.

But just like last year, we’ll likely get our hands on a free PES2020 demo a couple of weeks before launch.

Now, this won’t be anything as comprehensive as the full game, but it will offer a great chance to hone your skills and get used to gameplay tweaks.

So, what can we expect? We take a look through last year’s offering, to see if it can give us any clues. One thing’s for certain, though – it’ll push FIFA 20 all the way.

Timing

This year, you will be able to download the demo from the PlayStation and Microsoft stores around July 30, with the full release date on September 10.

What’s included?

Last year, you could try out 12 clubs from across Europe and South America. These were:

  • FC Barcelona
  • Liverpool FC
  • FC Schalke 04
  • Inter
  • AC Milan
  • AS Monaco
  • CR Flamengo
  • São Paulo FC
  • SE Palmeiras
  • Colo-Colo
  • France
  • Argentina

You also had the choice of two stadiums:

This year, we are almost certain the stadiums will remain the same – especially the Nou Camp. As for the teams, expect Barca and Liverpool to definitely be on the list – given their long-standing relationships with Konami.

What modes will be featured?

The PES 2019 demo was pretty generous when it came to content.

You could play offline exhibition matches, offline co-op, and online quick matches.

The latter was a demo first last year, and was welcomed by the community – especially given the fact that the FIFA 20 demo (which will drop a couple of weeks after PES2020’s lauch) only catered for offline play.

The Camp Nou will almost certainly feature in the PES2020 demo

Anything else I need to know?

Yes, plenty – but we’ll save that for our huge PES 2020 explainer, where you can find everything from the release to the PES 2020 cover star, gameplay tweaks and more.
