Peppa Pig releases charity single in race for Christmas No.1 spot

Global star Peppa Pig is joining the race for Christmas No.1 with her first charity single.

The cheeky cartoon character is joined by a children’s choir for a festive take on the show’s popular Bing Bong song – Bing Bong Christmas.

A donation from every stream and download of the single will go to Save the Children, a charity which helps children around the world to have a brighter future.

In her bid to be crowned Christmas No 1, Peppa’s Bing Bong Christmas will face the challenge of another iconic Bing… Christmas heavyweight, Bing Crosby, alongside contenders such as Wham!, Adele, Robbie Williams and Tyson Fury.

Bing Bong Christmas features the voice talents of actress Harley Bird, who is the voice of Peppa in the animated TV series, and incorporates the character’s signature “bing bong” vocalisations in a follow-up to the smash hit Bing Bong Zoo from Peppa Pig’s debut album.

Bing Bong Christmas is a new composition by Paul Moessl, whose credits include previous Christmas No 1 singles Mistletoe and Wine and Saviour’s Day, and award-winning preschool TV producer, Clare Bradley.

This latest musical outing marks Peppa’s second major music release this year following the launch of debut album Peppa Pig: My First Album, which sparked a humorous chart battle with Iggy Azalea that went viral last summer.
