PEP GUARDIOLA called Manchester City the best team in Prem history in an emotional address.
City beat neighbours United 2-0 on Wednesday after seeing off Tottenham 1-0 on Saturday.
And boss Guardiola told his men following the derby win: “That is why you’re the best team this league has ever seen.”
The players then broke into song in praise of Leroy Sane, who scored the second goal.
The song hails Sane to the Buddy Holly tune from TV programme Heartbeat.
City’s win at Old Trafford pushed them a point ahead of Liverpool.
They are now just three games from becoming the first team to retain the title since United in 2009.
They have Burnley away on Sunday, Leicester at home on May 6 and Brighton away on the final day of the season.
Guardiola said: “It’s tough because there are still three games to play — it is incredible, but it is what it is — and we still need to win our remaining games.
“I’ve told the players to rest, relax, don’t talk too much, don’t watch TV, just eat well and sleep because on Sunday we have another difficult game.
“Then we have eight days to prepare for Leicester, then another week to get ready for Brighton — hopefully, they will not need points to stay up!
“It’s game by game and that’s all we can do.”
