People with acne are praising this £16 drying lotion for totally clearing their spots (and Zoella and Kylie Jenner swear by it, too)

Along with filling our brows, chiselling our cheekbones, and perfecting a killer winged eyeliner, the biggest makeup challenge to the best of us is arguably covering an acne breakout – particularly those angry, red bumps that appear in the night.

Whether we use a stick, cream or trusty wand to tackle our spots, sometimes there’s nothing left to do but spaccle the offending blemish with concealer and hope for the best.

Those days might be over, thanks to cult skincare brand Mario Badescu’s Drying Lotion, which is being hailed as a can’t-live-without product by acne sufferers.

The classic blemish treatment is formulated with a holy trinity of acne-fighting ingredients including salicylic acid, sulfur, and zinc oxide, which help draw out stubborn impurities and shrinks pesky spots while you sleep.

The drying lotion is also perfect for cystic acne, thanks to the addition of calamine lotion, which soothes the skin and reduces redness while you sleep, and salicylic acid, which penetrates deep into the pores, exfoliates skin cells and reduces sebum production.

It seems that Badescu’s magic in a bottle is working wonders, as shoppers on Amazon have been leaving five-star reviews and impressive pictures of their skin transformations for the bestseller.

“This product is amazing! I could see the results the next day! In 4 days my acne is disappearing! My skin is brighter and my pores are reduced,” one user wrote.

“BEST STUFF EVER! I have spent hundreds trying out and testing differents products for my acne and I swear since using this my confidence has come back because I now don’t look away when talking to people or try to cover my face (my skin got so bad I was purposely not making plans or making excuses so that I didn’t have to go out or be seen in public and was worried about people judging me),” wrote another happy customer in their review.

When you come to use the beauty hero, it’s important to remember to NOT shake the bottle, even though it looks as though you need to mix the pink sediment resting at the bottom with the solution.

After you’ve cleansed, toned and moisturised, simply take a cotton bud, dip it into the solution and dab it onto any visible whiteheads or red bumps. Don’t overdo it though – overuse will make your skin sandpaper dry and sensitive to the touch.

If you were paying attention back in December 2016, you’ll remember that YouTuber and GLAMOUR cover girl Zoella revealed that the solution was one of her skincare saviours for keeping spots at bay and Kylie Jenner is also a staunch fan.

“I love it. It’s like it suffocates the hell out of any spot or blemish and the next day it’s like it’s not there anymore,” she said in one of her beauty vlogs.

The at-home acne treatment has a huge celebrity following too, with Bella Hadid, Lili Reihart and GLAMOUR cover star Kylie Jenner all turning to the solution for nixing their blemishes.

While it won’t cure persistent acne, the treatment is a great port of call when you want to get rid of a pimple fast. At £16, it won’t stay a skincare secret for long though, so be sure to stock up soon…
