Netflix viewers waited a whole year for You season two to drop and it’s safe to say the latest episodes in the series did not disappoint.
Fans were on the edge of their seat as Joe Goldberg, now under the alias of Will Bettleheim, moved to LA and began stalking his new obsession, Love Quinn.
They watched as he chopped up Jasper’s body in a vomit-inducing montage and then gasped as it was revealed Love is also a psychopath killer.
But the moment fans reacted to the most? The fact that Joe, played by Penn Badgley, was likened to singer John Mayer.
The moment occurred as Joe was skulking around a house party in The Valley, trying to find a mysterious guy named Rufus.
The reason Joe was on a hunt for this enigmatic man was so he could collect what he thought was $50,000 in cash.
Much to his surprise, when he finally did find Rufus, Joe was handed a pack of pills – not a wad of bills.
He then realised the true Will Bettleheim, whom Joe captured in his creepy glass cage and stole the identity of, was actually playing him in order to get his much-needed medication for his bipolar disorder.
But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Before Joe laid eyes upon Rufus, he bumped into two random party-goers and asked them who the eff Rufus is.
They then responded: “Are you John Mayer?” and refused to tell him anything, believing him to be the Waiting On The World To Change hitmaker.
Naturally, Twitter had a field day and hilarity ensued…
You season 2 is now available to stream on Netflix.
