Peep Show star Isy Suttie has revealed the somewhat hilarious reality of what it’s like to be a parent with young children.

The actress and comedian, 44, appeared as Mark’s love interest Dobby (real name Debbie) in the Channel 4 series between 2008 and the show’s final season in 2015.

Isy has two children, a daughter born in 2014 and a son born in 2019, with Welsh comedian Elis James.

And in a post sent to her 111,000 followers on Twitter, Isy attached a picture of all the children’s toys she’d found underneath her sofas after recently moving house.

Featured in the picture were piles of children’s pens and pencils, dolls, stuffed animals, old DVDs, and children’s books, as well as many other bits and pieces.

She captioned the post: ‘If anyone wants to feel better about your life, this is what was under our sofas when we moved them into the new house.’

Fans and friends immediately began analysing the image in fine detail and then took to the comments to let Isy know what they’d spotted.

TV actor and film director Chris Addison stopped by to invent a comical scenario in which Isy and her partner struggle to find ‘everything’ in their house.

Another fan had a hilarious story of their own: ‘We once sent our telly for repair, one of the old fat screen ones, when it was returned they gave us back 32 pencils that my small child had posted through the holes.’

One user, who spotted a DVD of 1980s American sitcom Police Squad, exclaimed: ‘How long has it been since you checked under the sofa? 1995?’

The actress appeared in the second half of Peep Show’s nine-season run, after being introduced in season five.

From then on, she was an on-and-off love interest of main character Mark Corrigan (David Mitchell), and was even a brief love interest of Mark’s flatmate Jeremy (Robert Webb).

She made her final appearance in the second episode of the show’s final season, four episodes before the series finale.

Since Peep Show’s finale, she has appeared on dozens of UK panel comedy shows and was most recently seen in the sitcom Damned, which ended in 2018.
