Peaky Blinders season 6 filming has been brought to a halt once again after a crew member received a ‘false positive’ coronavirus test result.

Production on the upcoming final series only restarted in January amid the pandemic, however, the acclaimed show has faced another spanner in the works just one day after Line Of Duty star Stephen Graham was spotted on set.

According to reports, the member of staff has been told to self-isolate along with those who they came into contact with after taking the NHS test

‘Filming was stood down on Peaky Blinders because of a false positive test result for a member of the crew,’ a spokesperson said.

‘In line with protocol, this person took an NHS test and anyone who came into contact with them self-isolated – the safety of our team on Peaky Blinders is of paramount importance.’

The spokesperson added to MailOnline: ‘The NHS test has come back negative and filming will resume as normal tomorrow.’

Peaky Blinders filming has been in full swing in recent months, with pictures of Aimee-Ffion Edwards appearing to confirm Esme Shelby’s explosive return.

Last week, it was revealed that the drama had commemorated the late, great Helen McCrory with a sweet tribute on set following the Aunt Polly actress’s death from cancer aged 52.

The team posted a message from the set with a clapperboard bearing Helen’s face and surrounded by the words ‘Rest in Peace, Helen’.

In January, the show’s creator Stephen Knight confirmed the new series would be its last.

‘Peaky is back and with a bang’, he announced. ‘After the enforced production delay due to the Covid pandemic, we find the family in extreme jeopardy and the stakes have never been higher.

‘We believe this will be the best series of all and are sure that our amazing fans will love it. While the TV series will be coming to an end, the story will continue in another form.’

Metro.co.uk has contacted Peaky Blinders for comment.

Peaky Blinders is available to stream on BBC iPlayer and Netflix.
