The final four places at the World Series of Darts Finals have been confirmed after a dramatic day of qualification gave players a chance to join the party in Amsterdam.

Eight spots had already been filled through the World Series Order of Merit, with the next four names on the PDC Order of Merit qualifying and then eight invites being dished out.

This left PDC Tour Card holders battling it out in Barnsley on Wednesday for a chance to compete for the £70,000 top prize in November.

The four men that took those places were Krzysztof Ratajski, Jonny Clayton, Ricky Evans and Wayne Jones.

The qualification tournament was played down from 128 players and two of the qualifiers were pushed right to a deciding leg in their final match.

Jones edged out Alan Norris 6-5, while Evans pipped Rowby-John Rodriguez by the same scoreline.

Clayton beat Belgian veteran Ronny Huybrechts 6-3, while Ratajski produced a sensational result to beat BDO world champion Glen Durrant 6-0.

The World Series of Darts Finals heads to Amsterdam for the first time this year, having previously been held in Glasgow and Vienna.

The tournament was first held in 2015, with Michael van Gerwen winning the first three editions of the event before James Wade broke his stranglehold last year.

The professionals of the PDC are embarking on an incredibly busy time of year, with major tournament after major tournament coming round.

The World Series Finals may only be less than three weeks away (1-3 November), but before then the Champions League and the European Championship take place over the next two weeks.

The Grand Slam and Players Championship Finals follow in November before the big one, the World Championship, beginning on 13 December.
