Paul Rudd has once again captured hearts as he makes the most of his ability to seemingly never age, blessing us with an iconic coronavirus PSA.
The Ant-Man star has probably heard enough of the phrase ‘look at us!’ to last him a lifetime after his infamous appearance on Hot Ones, but it didn’t stop him pulling out the big guns for the cheeky advert.
‘Yo, what up doges, Paul Rudd here, actor and certified young person,’ he began in the video posted to the First We Feast Twitter account, wielding a skateboard.
‘A few days ago I was talking on the iPhone with my homie Governor Cuomo, and he’s just going off about how us millennials need to wear masks because, get this, apparently a lot of Covid is transmitted by us millennials. No cap!
‘So Cuoms asked me, he’s like, “Paul, you gotta help! What are you, like 26?”‘
The 51-year-old continued: ‘And I didn’t correct him.’
Throwing it back to his iconic appearance on Hot Ones, Paul joined host Sean Evans (both masked up, of course), as they declared: ‘Look at us. Hey! Look at us. Who would have thought wearing masks would be a problem? Not me!’
With the video slightly descending into chaos, the Avengers star went on to cry out: ‘Just wear a mask! I shouldn’t have to make it fun! It’s science! It’s science! Nerghhh!’ before ending with a good old: ‘We gotta yeet this virus.’
We do indeed Paul, we do indeed.
Fans are living for the PSA, with many comparing the clip to Steve Buscemi’s ‘How do you do, fellow kids?’ scene from 30 Rock.
‘So Paul Rudd basically became the much cooler version of the Steve Buscemi “fellow kid” meme from 30 Rock,’ one pointed out.
Another added: ‘Steve Buscemi walked so Paul Rudd could run… away with this skit.’
‘When Paul Rudd said “Just wear a mask I shouldn’t have to make it fun, it’s science. IT’S SCIENCE! MMNUUGGH!”, I felt that,’ one more said.
Paul, who opened up about his role in Friends earlier this year, has previously spoken out about his intention to ‘yeet the virus’, after he joined forces with the likes of John Cena, Billy Porter, and Catherine O’Hara to debunk harmful coronavirus conspiracy theories.
As part of his HBO comedy series, Last Week Tonight With John Oliver, the British comic slammed President Donald Trump for fuelling false information about the deadly bug, which continued to spread at a rapid rate across the United States.
Trump was subsequently branded the ‘conspiracy-theorist-in-chief’ across several major news outlets.
Welcoming some famous friends to help him out, John had former WWE star turned Hollywood actor Cena strip off to tease that he had to look up Oliver’s date of birth after being told they were the same age.
Elsewhere, Paul joked he once thought he was dead because the hashtag #RIPPaulRudd began trending on Twitter.
Meanwhile, O’Hara suggested checking multiple news outlets for the facts – don’t take one source as the truth immediately.
