Paul Pogba will deliver a personal plea to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to sanction his departure from Manchester United this week, according to reports.

The French World Cup winner is determined to leave Old Trafford for a second time, with La Liga giants Real Madrid and Serie A champions Juventus interested in a deal.

Pogba returned to United from Juve in 2016 and was one of the club’s best players across a frustrating 2018-19 campaign which saw the Red Devils slip to sixth in the Premier League.

The 26-year-old is currently on holiday and is due to sit down with Solskjaer upon his return, when he will ‘beg’ to be allowed to leave, according to The Sun.

Manchester United chief Ed Woodward is personally reluctant to sell Pogba for the second time and has informed the player and his agent Mino Raiola that any deal will be blocked.

But Pogba has made it abundantly clear that he wants out and now hopes a meeting with Solskjaer will result in the Norwegian manager persuading Woodward to strike a deal.

Manchester United’s first pre-season match takes place on July 13 in Australia and Pogba wants his future resolved by then in the form of a summer transfer.

Real Madrid have been heavily linked with Pogba, with French legend Zinedine Zidane believed to be keen to work with his compatriot at the Bernabeu.

But the Spanish heavyweights could be priced out of a move, with Woodward hoping to secure around £120million for the midfielder if a sale becomes inevitable.

The Sun say Real could offer Isco as part of their deal to sign Pogba but Solskjaer has so far this summer targeted young, British players.

United made Daniel James their first summer signing earlier in the month, before completing a £50m deal for Crystal Palace’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka this weekend.

Speaking to reporters in Japan earlier in the month, Pogba confirmed he wanted a ‘new challenge’ away from Manchester United next season.

‘Like you said, there is a lot of talking and a lot of thinking as well,’ Pogba said.

‘For me I have been for three years in Manchester and have been doing great; some good moments and some bad moments, like everybody. Like everywhere else.

‘After this season and everything that happened this season, with my season being my best season as well… I think for me it could be a good time to have a new challenge somewhere else.

‘I am thinking of this – to have a new challenge somewhere else.’
