Paul Pogba returns to Man Utd training ground for showdown transfer talks ahead of tour

Pogba has spent the last week in New York while his Manchester United team-mates got stuck into the first week of pre-season.

Pogba was given extra time off after his international duty but he was expected to have returned earlier than today.

Pogba was pictured heading into the training complex in a black Mercedes van as his future continues to be called into question.

While Pogba cannot be seen in the photo, it is understood he is in the back of the car and is set for talks with the club over his future.

Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola admitted last week he was working on a move for Pogba as Real Madrid and Juventus step up interest.

Raiola told the Times: “Everyone knows the willingness of Paul to move on. We are in the process of that. Everyone knows what the feelings of Paul are.”

He added: “Everyone within the club, from the manager to the owner, knows Paul’s wishes.”

Pogba himself admitted last month that he was ready for a new chapter and wanted to move on.

The World Cup winner however has now touched down in Manchester where he is expected to make clear his position.

United chiefs feared Pogba would be a no-show ahead of their pre-season trip to Australia as he spent time in the States working with adidas.

It is understood club officials have not spoken to Pogba since the end of last season.

Other United team-mates including Romelu Lukaku, whose future is also uncertain, were pictured arriving at Carrington as well this morning.

United want Pogba to stay at the club but have drawn up a list of targets to replace him with including Bruno Fernandes of Sporting Lisbon.

Pogba returned to Old Trafford in 2016 in a deal worth £89m and United will a profit on their returns after three seasons.

The France star has been a controversial figure at United after failing to always give value for money with his performances.

But Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane remains a big fan and wants to rebuild his midfield around him.

Juve are also keen on a deal despite signing Aaron Ramsey and Adrien Rabiot and reports this morning claimed they were preparing a bid worth £120m.
