FOOTBALL legend Paul Gascoigne has been offered a place on Strictly Come Dancing’s Italian spin-off – and he’s considering it.
The 52-year-old former England hero told the Mirror we could see him donning the famous sequins on TV’s Ballando Con Le Stelle.
He would be following the quick-steps of fellow sportsmen Diego Maradona and Mike Tyson, whose life Paul says was transformed on the show in 2010.
The paper quotes Gazza, who played for Italian side Lazio, saying: “They still love me because of my time playing there so I may give it a go.”
His agent added: “It is a very long show in Italy. It runs for about four hours. So we will have to look at how we would do it.
“We don’t know if it would be for a full stint, or a shorter format.”
This week, Paul admitted he had suffered a booze relapse over Christmas despite forking out £20,000 on getting anti-alcohol pellets sewn into his body.
The ex-England ace revealed that he jetted to Australia for the operation in 2018 after battling the bottle for decades.
Appearing on Good Morning Britain, he said: “I had a relapse at Christmas, which I was gutted [about], but I’ve just got back on the straight and narrow again.
“I’m happy in life, I really am, especially after what I went through last year. When I feel down, I go out on the high street and people are great to me.
“I’ve never turned down a selfie or autograph in my life.
“If I need picking up I just walk down the high street and sit with a tramp and buy him a sandwich.”
Tragedy has stalked Paul, who admits he’s been single for 20 years after his 1998 divorce from then-wife Sheryl, but insists he’s happy in his own company.
